Tunneled TLS (TTLS) is the second most widely used EAP method behind PEAP.
With authentication based on the user's username and password, TTLS enables 802.1X and WPA2-Enterprise
without the need for client certificates.
Unlike PEAP, which places limits on the user directory, TTLS is completely flexible and able to work
with any user directory. The main drawback to TTLS is the lack of native support within Windows. Cloudpath
is proud to work closely with SecureW2, the world's most widely deployed TTLS implementation, to support
TTLS on Windows.
XpressConnect's support for TTLS is consistent across the wide array of operating systems and device types
supported by XpressConnect.
Key Features for TTLS Include:
The ability to configure WPA2 wireless profiles and 802.1X wired profiles.
The ability to install root certificate authorities (root CAs) for TTLS server certificate validation.
The ability to provide a foolproof authentication process.
The ability to install the SecureW2 TTLS EAP plugin automatically, either visually or silently, on Windows.
